Cady McClain is a two-time Emmy© Award winner and two-time Emmy© nominated director, McClain explores the range of the female experience in her directing, writing, and acting. She was honored to receive the 2017 International Matrix Award from the Association of Women in Communications for her work related to female directors. McClain is a 9th generation Californian with roots in Baja, Mexico.
Her roles on daytime television have build her a loyal online following who continue to support her work both in front of and behind the camera. Her film Seeing is Believing: Women Direct has had a huge impact on audiences on the festival circuit and continues to book screenings across the country. She and the SIBWD team are currently editing a podcast on female directors called “Hearing is Believing.” Her memoir Murdering My Youth is a top seller on Amazon, and she is working on developing it into a scripted series.
Recently, she directed Howard Meyer’s stage play “Paint Made Flesh” in NYC and adapted it into a screenplay to be produced by Deborah Del Prete.
