Advocacy Program

We love to be advocates for projects created by female filmmakers! Our programming offers opportunities for support in a variety of ways.

A glimpse at a few of our advocacy programs and events: 

2019 TO.GET.HER Initiative provides film finishing funds to California-based filmmakers. The initiative is supported in part by the California Arts Council, the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture and the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles. Thirteen filmmakers were selected as semi-finalists in November 2019 and the final cash awards were publicly announced on December 31, 2019. See award winners here


2018 TO.GET.HER Initiative provided finishing fund opportunities to female filmmakers. The initiative was supported in part by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles and the Puffin Foundation. Three filmmakers were presented with cash awards to complete their individual projects and three honorees were offered fiscal sponsorship opportunities.

A screening at the Arena Cinelounge on Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood was held free to the public to showcase the 2018 TO.GET.HER filmmaker award-winning films!

IN HER DIRECTION (2017) offered funds to female filmmakers to share their passion for directing by creating 2 minute digital stories. This open call received amazing films and the creativity out there is truly inspiring
